In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Nora Jane Long is a multidisciplinary artist working across digital illustration, mixed media, and traditional materials such as gouache, watercolor, colored pencil, and pastel. Her visual art practice draws deep inspiration from nature and natural history, especially the small, often overlooked details of the living world.

Each piece weaves together layers of texture, symbolism, and softness, resulting in work that feels both dreamlike and grounded, playful and precise. Nora’s imagery often features flora, fauna, and imagined ecosystems, inviting viewers into poetic, contemplative spaces where memory and metaphor intertwine. Influenced by scientific illustration, folk art, and storybook aesthetics, her art acts as an extension of her larger creative practice — exploring attention, ecological connection, and the inner landscape.
